A weekend of cleaning and organizing the art studio

I spent most of Friday evening clearing out (throwing away) the junk left in the studio from my son's room that he did not want anymore. Then on Sunday I began organizing what was left in there which by then was all my own stuff. I rearranged it and like it alot better. I can feel the creative juices flowing when I step in there now.
When I took over this bedroom a few years ago, my hubby built these built in shelves for me. I really like them and it did not take me long to fill them up. I love to read if you could not tell.
Here above are the shelves at the sewing area. I finally went thur my fabric stash last night and organized what little I had by color.
Here is my old chair and stash of yarn around it. Looks a little crowded but I like it.
I also washed up the reds and white fabric that I want to make a quilt from. I just need to find a pattern and begin. They are ready to go now, but I am still stumped on what to make of it.

I got my ravelry invite Friday afternoon, but haven't started to use the notebook section of same yet. I only got one completed project posted over there and that is the granny square blanket. At least now I will know where all my stuff is so I can add it in over there. I am just exploreing and getting a feel for the site. I have a feeling it is going to suck me right in though, in a good way of course.

So close...

Here is where I am on the Ravelery list today.

You signed up on February 13, 2008
You are #107757 on the list.
452 people are ahead of you in line.
5661 people are behind you in line.
94% of the list has been invited so far

I was hoping to have my invite by this weekend. I think it will give me the motivation to clean up the art studio. It is alot messier now. My son and I cleaned out his room and did a little makeover with it and all the stuff he does not want has ended up in the studio. UGH!! He told me it can all go in the attic, but I am thinking most of it is going in the trash! Anything to get it out of my space so that I can go back up there and be creative again.
I should have done this last weekend with our three day weekend, but was enjoying hanging out on the couch and playing with yarn instead by working on that second granny square blanket.

I think I am addicted now..

To these damn granny square blankets!!

This one on the top I finished off this weekend. It is approx 52 x 52 inches square. I used the Lion Brand cotton ease, which I did like because it is 50% cotton 50% acrylic (I hate acrylic), but it does not feel like acrylic. I used it most of the weekend while being lazy at home on our 3 day weekend. I also went shopping for more yarn and started this one below, hence the addiction part.
Not sure about those three colors, but the youngest daughter loves it and has already claimed it for herself. At the same time my sister was over at the house and claimed it as well. Maybe they can draw straws to see who it gets it? Although I never said at the time that I was giving it to anyone. It is kinda growing on me now with those colors. I really want to do one in a brown and pink colorway, but the store did not have enough of the brown or the right shade of pink in anything I liked. I must say this second is going faster, not sure if it is because I went up one size larger on the hook or I just have the hang of it better now, but it is practically half way done!

That is it for now. I have not given up on knitting though, but love exploring the crochet world as well.

I finally signed up for Ravelry

Here is where I am on the list. I would have thought that by now, everyone had been invited by now, but I guess not.

I have read alot about this site, and there was little article about in the spring Interweave magazine I got in the mail a few days ago. I liked the part about organizing all your knit related items for easy reference. Although by looking at where I am on the list, it could be a few months before I get invited. Something to forward to I guess.

What will you be doing tonight???

This is a bottle of wine that I will trying out tonight. I got it at Target under their best wines for less than $10.00. I could not pass it up as it has a sheep on it. How fabulous is that?!

I will let you all know if it is any good, but as I am not a expert on red wines, you really should not take my word for it. I am more of a white wine person.
